This week we're going to the dystopian future for a love story between Johnny Five and the latest Apple HomePod in Wall-E.  Join your favourite TransAtlantic podcasting crew – Ian, Liam, Ellie, and Georgia - alongside Ethan from Talking the Mickey - as we allow Disney/Pixar to lecture us about the dangers of big corporations taking over the world. It's a humanity-filled 54th episode as we discuss:

  • How a single lunch meeting brought us a decade of Pixar releases
  • We discuss the similarities between Wall-E's character design and the main attraction from the Short Circuit series of films
  • We ask if children from 7-14 would love a dialogue free (and therefore, largely joke-free) film
  • We gush over some of the visual sequences both on Earth and off
  • Does Pixar just repurpose The Little Mermaid for their own use (that's an awfully Wall-E thing to do actually)
  • Ian imagines a remaking of the film with American rapper Wale in the titular role
  • We all start to feel a bit hypocritical about our own screen usage.
  • Ian discusses the ridiculousness of burger imagery to a society that's never eaten a proper hamburger
  • Whether or not this a glorified silent film
  • Whether or not Wall-E is the Best Film Ever
